How to Apply

VADOC’s job openings are generally updated once a week, on Friday afternoon.

An individual interested in employment with the VADOC must submit an electronic application through the Recruitment Management System (RMS) at https://jobs.agencies.virginia.gov. This system is operated by the Virginia Department of Human Resource Management.

An individual should establish a personal RMS account (user ID and password), create an electronic employment application, and then submit the application for specific job announcements.

An application submitted to VADOC must be complete. An incomplete application may eliminate an individual from consideration for a position. Care should be taken to fully document work history, educational activities and explain any gaps in employment.

Consideration for an interview will be based solely on the information provided on the application. A resume will not substitute for a completed state application.

VADOC will only consider an application received by 5:00 PM on the closing date.
